October/ November Recap…

October and November have been very busy month’s for me. Which would explain the week and a half I went without blogging : ( So I wanted to share some pictures of what I have been up to.

October.. Andy, Aida and myself ran a full marathon! All I can say about that is, INTENSE!

Marathon

I started on this painting. Clearly, it is still a work in progress. My next goal is to come up with a theme to apply to my paintings and craft work. Any ideas?

I made these festive bows for christmas out of magazine pages. How About Orange Blog has a great post on how to make these beautiful festive bows. They are so simple to make.  All you need is a magazine page, a stapler,  scissors, glue and viola!

BIRTHDAYS…

We kicked started the birthday celebrating with Richie’s 21st at. FUN FUN FUN 🙂

My brother and I took full advantage of the swing set we found outside of the club. Genius right?!

My pretty cousin Amber turned 16, she is lagging on posting pictures. Then again, who am I to judge?  😛

Her dance group Creative Movement performed but sadly I missed out. Take a peek at their performance at the Renaissance Assembly. Take a look at their video here.

Andy’s neice turned 4. Hooray 🙂  It was a dinosaur themed party — I know exciting!! I think we had too much fun… Look at the bouncer they rented! I wasn’t able to beat Andy, he had a slight height advantage but, there is always next year!

From the looks of it I think his mom had just as much fun as we did! lol

Other celebrations.. My good friend Justine  messaged me today. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from one another. So it was definitely a pleasant surprise! She was my grade school partner in crime. good times. xoxo

Most importantly… October 26th marked one year since my beloved grandmother passed away. Although it’s been hard my family and I have are so grateful to all those who continue to show such love and support to my family & I. Truly, we are blessed to have such amazing people in our lives. Grandma you are forever missed. We love you!

Lastly, these two beautiful poems ..

God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered, “Come to me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

She is Gone
By Anonymous

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
